It’s a recurring theme in my work. I’m often asked to illustrate fantasy-themed subjects like unicorns, mermaid princesses, pixies, or just fairy tales in general. This time, these princesses happen to have actual legs instead of a shimmering fishtail, and the setting is on land instead of the deep sea.

Dear Stella Fabrics just released a new fabric collection called ‘Get your ducks in a row,’ and yep, I painted loads and loads of ducks for this project (and I had a lot of fun doing so).People who know me a little, know I'm quite fond of ducks. They're my most favorite waterbirds. Especially when it's Springtime, I tend to melt a little when  the ducklings have hatched and swim in line next to their moms. Sadly, the number of ducks are declining rapidly where I live, and I'm really hoping things will turn around for them again soon. Let's hope for a good hatching year.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, Coen and I took a stroll towards the Nawijn & Polak Bookstore in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. I was there to lead a drawing workshop for two groups of children (age 4-8), and Coen was my assistant.
