You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have
- Maya Angelou
I have a love for creating pattern designs. I create them both in vector and analogue style.
Many of my repeated artworks landed on (quilting) fabrics and a range of home decor products.

Pattern Design & Surface Illustrations by Miriam Bos
This collection of illustrated patterns is filled with color, playfulness, and fun characters. Each design features hand-painted elements that I arranged into seamless repeats, created to for all kinds of surfaces, from textiles and wallpaper to stationery and gift wrap.
As a surface designer and illustrator, I love turning everyday subjects into decorative motifs. My patterns often feature floral themes, nature-inspired shapes, seasonal elements, food, animals, and whimsical characters like mermaids or unicorns. Whether it’s a bold repeat of singing birds, a floral design, or a kitchen-themed layout, I enjoy adding a bit of storytelling to my patterns.
Each pattern design is created using a mix of traditional and digital techniques. I often start by painting in gouache and then bring everything together digitally to create a seamless design with a hand-drawn feel. My style is colorful, layered with details, and slightly quirky.
My pattern designs have been featured in a series of fabric collections, gift wrap, wallpapers, stationery, book covers, and homeware items, including pillows and blankets.
If you’re looking for custom pattern design, licensing opportunities, or a collaboration on a surface design project, feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to discuss ideas and possibilities.
