Starting Tuesday, November 4, 2024, they’re finally here! You can pick up free Christmas cards at Intratuin in the Netherlands and Germany (while supplies last, of course). And this year, I had the privilege of illustrating them for you!
Send a little Christmas magic!
This past summer, I worked closely with Intratuin on this fun three-card set. Personally, I think sending a handwritten card for the holidays is one of the best traditions at the end of the year. Despite rising postage costs, I’ve been sending personal cards to a select group of family and friends for years. So when Intratuin approached me this spring to create these festive cards, they were definitely in the right place!
Three festive cards, one of which is new
For this set of three, Intratuin licensed two of my existing holiday card designs and requested one new card. This became the card featuring the red-haired young woman in a flying sleigh full of gifts. The sleigh was particularly important because it was set to play a key role in Intratuin's social media and advertising campaigns, so it had to be somewhat recognizable.
What I find especially fun is that you can currently find the exact same sleigh in several Intratuin locations across the Netherlands! I found one in the Apeldoorn store, placed in a beautiful setting. You’re welcome to sit in it and take a photo of yourself. How fun is that? I even managed to get my parents to pose for a photo (see below). Of course they took one of me too, haha.
What I also find really cool is how well the final commercial and the card match each other! I worked with a photo of the (still bare) sleigh, a photo of the model, and a simple storyboard idea for the promo. The rest of the illustration was up to me, so I had no idea what the final result would look like. I decided to make it very cheerful, with a magical background of a fairytale-like snow landscape. When I finally saw the video and noticed how beautifully everything came together, it felt extra special.
This photo was sent to me as a sample by Intratuin, to give me an impression of what they ‘d like me to draw.

Want to know how you can get your hands on a set of these cards?
Find an Intratuin store and get your set at the counter with your voucher.
But as you may have guessed, the set is only available in the Netherlands and Germany.
You can find the voucher on the Intratuin app once you log into your account (scroll down a bit). Show it at the checkout to get the set for free. But hurry, because it’s only while supplies last!
Psst…
Have you managed to pick up a set of free cards at the store? Are you planning to send one to someone special? I’m really curious to know!
I hope they bring a smile to someone’s face. But if you decide to keep them for yourself, that’s great too! As long as you enjoy them. Right?
With love,
