”Old Maid is a card matching game played with 2 or more players. The objective of the game is to pair up all of your cards while trying to avoid the odd card with the cat in boots by the end of the game.”
PLAYING INSTRUCTIONS
Old Maid game with Dinosaurs
• From 4 years old
• 20 min
• 3 to 4 players
• 39 cards, 19 pairs, and 1 Cat-in-Boots (aka old maid)
GOAL OF THE GAME:
Not to end the game with the Cat-in-Boots in your hand!
PLAYING THE GAME:
The youngest player begins and the game is played in a clockwise direction.
• Deal all the cards among the players.
• Each player puts together a maximum of pairs (two identical cards) and places them in front of him.
• The first player draws a card at random from the deck of the player to his left. If this card allows him to form a new pair, he places it in front of him. Otherwise, he keeps it in his game. In all cases, it is the next player to play.
• The game continues in this way until all pairs are matched.
END OF THE GAME:
The game ends when all pairs have been matched. The loser is the one who ends up with the Cat-in-Boots-card; all the other players are the winners.
WHAT HAPPENS IF …
• You want more suspense?
We remove the Cat-in-Boots and 1 other random card from the game before starting. We will not know until the end of the game which card was the Cat-in-Boots (or Old Maid)!
• Do you want to play another game?
Just remove the Cat-in-Boots card to change it into a classic memory game!
